Pegah Salami, DMD
Dr. Salami made the dean's list three years running before she graduated from UCSD in 1996 with her bachelor's degree in general biology. She then earned her dental degree, cum laude, at Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2001. She continues her education through many postgraduate courses and seminars every year. Most recently, her educational focus has been in the areas of orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign certification, and becoming a sedation dentist through DOCS, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Salami is a member of the California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
A local, Dr. Salami attended Torrey Pines. She and her husband live with their two children in San Diego. Dr. Salami enjoys oil painting, cooking, and keeping fit with Pilates.
Dr. Kelly Taylor
Dr. Kelly Taylor is a native of San Diego. She attended UCLA for undergraduate studies where she received Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology with a specialization in Business Administration. She was awarded numerous awards, including Who's Who, National Golden Key Honor Society, the Dean's List, and she graduated with honors.
Dr. Taylor stayed at UCLA to attend dental school. She was active at the UCLA School of Dentistry representing the student body on the Academic Curriculum Committee and was elected as a student body officer. In addition to her orthodontic and other awards, she was selected to receive outstanding student of the year awards in endodontics and oral surgery. She graduated in the top of her class and was consistently on the Dean's List. She was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society for her academic and clinical achievements.
She then travelled north to attend the prestigious University of Washington Orthodontic Residency Program where she received her Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters in Science of Dentistry. During her residency, she was extensively involved in research on orthodontics and quality of life. She presented her research findings internationally and has been published in orthodontic journals. Dr. Taylor received her board certification in orthodontics in 2008. American Board of Orthodontics certification is a distinction given to orthodontists who perform at a high level on a board examination and are able to present high quality patient treatment.
Dr. Taylor is an active member of the CDA, ADA, PCSO, COA, AAO, and ABO. She has a passion for working with patients of all ages. She enjoys working with the patients and orthodontic team to give the patients the smile they deserve. In her spare time, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, sports, and chocolate :)
