To restore a tooth with extensive damage like decay, a crack, or a chip, Dr. Salami may recommend a crown. Also referred to as a cap, a crown fits snugly over the remaining tooth structure. Crowns restore the shape and stability of injured teeth, and Dr. Salami prefers to use white crowns when possible.
Plan on two office visits to receive your permanent crown. At the first appointment, Dr. Salami will prepare the tooth, take measurements for the dental lab, and fit you with a temporary crown. Once we receive your custom crown, you will return to our office for final placement and fitting.
